Are you a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a passion for education? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Practical Nursing Instructor at Vancouver Career College, Burnaby, BC. 
 
Position: Practical Nursing (PN) Instructor  
Job Status: Part-time, Onsite  
Location: 212-5021 Kingsway #212, Burnaby, BC V5H 4A5  
Expected Start Date: ASAP  
Reports to: Campus Director  
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Morning 8am -1pm) OR (Afternoon 1pm - 6pm) OR (Evening 5pm -10pm) and Occasional Weekends  
Salary: $33 -$36 per hour  
Must Have: LPN License  
  
WHAT WILL YOU DO?  
Specifically, the “Practical Nursing Instructor” will be responsible for:  
  • Delivering instruction that meets course and program learning outcomes as set out in the curriculum.
  • Evaluating student performance fairly and consistently
  • Contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials
  • Supporting the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience.
  • Acting in a manner that upholds the College standards.
  • Participating in College and Program Activities 
WHY YOU?  
Education and Experience:  
  • Current practicing license as an LPN with BCCNM.
  • A credential or willingness to pursue any of the following credentials in adult education from an accredited post-secondary institution: 
    a) Provincial Instructor Diploma (PID) (those in progress must have an identified completion date).
    b) A formal educational equivalent to PID as described in the BC Transfer Guide http://www.bctransferguide.ca/docs/BCadultedbrochure.pdf (those in progress must have an identified completion date).
  • Minimum of three years of recent and relevant practice experience (equivalent to full-time hours per year).
  • Satisfy specific position qualifications as prescribed in program design and program approval for the instruction of the courses.
Skills and Abilities:  
  • Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches an asset.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • High standards of behavior, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with other instructors and staff.
  • Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of students, to provide feedback and treat students equitably.
  • Learn and use technology to enhance the student learning experience.
