Role Overview:
Valor Athletics seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Cheerleading Coach to support the development of student-athletes and contribute to a positive team culture. The MS Cheerleading Coach will work closely with the Head HS Cheerleading Coach on program expectations. MS Cheerleading coach will be responsible for all middle school practices, skill development, and performances. The ideal candidate is passionate about mentoring students, teaching fundamental cheerleading skills, promoting school spirit, and helping athletes grow both on and off the sidelines.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to support the overall vision and goals of the cheer program.
- Assist with planning and conducting cheer practices alongside the varsity team.
- Lead Middle School practices with an emphasis on cheerleading fundamentals (motions, jumps, sideline cheers), and age-appropriate skill development including basic stunt progressions, if appropriate.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, sportsmanship, and school pride.
- Support athlete development in a safe and positive environment.
- Help establish a positive foundation for athletes who may continue into the Valor high school cheerleading program.
- Assist with special events, pep rallies, community appearances, competitions, and other cheer program activities as assigned.
- Provide support for high school cheer activities and events as directed by the Head Coach.
- Serve as the primary coach for Middle School Girls Basketball and Middle School Boys Basketball home games.
- Coordinate and lead game-day responsibilities for Middle School cheerleaders.
- Ensure athletes are prepared, engaged, and represent Valor Collegiate Academies positively during athletic events.
- Maintain communication with athletes and families regarding schedules and expectations.
- Foster positive relationships with student-athletes.
- Support the physical and emotional well-being of all participants.
- Enforce team rules, school policies, and safety standards.
- Model professionalism, integrity, and strong character for student-athletes.
- Maintain a strong commitment to athlete safety and adherence to cheerleading best practices.
Key Experiences and Qualifications:

- Previous cheerleading experience required.
- Previous sports coaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals, game-day leadership, and basic stunt progressions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, athletes, families, and school staff.
- Ability to positively motivate and mentor student-athletes.
- Ability to demonstrate cheerleading skills and techniques.
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively supervise practices and games.
- Ability to assist with spotting and skill instruction in accordance with safety guidelines.

Schedule:
- This position will run in the Winter of the 26-27 school year from November-January.
- Attendance at scheduled summer and in-season practices.
- Attendance at Middle School Girls Basketball and Middle School Boys Basketball home games.
- Participation in program meetings, team events, competitions, pep rallies, and other activities as assigned.
