Tutoring Center Administrative Support 
 
ROLE SUMMARY 
 
The Tutoring Center Administrative Support role is designed to support the mission and day-to-day functions of Valor Academic Support through Valor’s Tutoring Center. This individual will work closely with the Academic Coordinator, Academic Support team, students, parents, teachers, and staff. This person will be responsible for communication, administration, and organization for the Tutoring Center, while making a positive contribution to a strong, joyful, cooperative team environment. The ideal candidate has strong administrative and communication skills, as well as a passion for supporting student outcomes. He or she will work closely with the Academic team to meet the vision of preparing tomorrow’s leaders for Christ.

Provide Timely, Organized Communication
  • Serve as point of contact for all Tutoring Center inquiries and manage the department email address, maintaining a 24-business hour response time to families
  • Create templates for tutors for beginning of school year, modified schedules, end of school year, or any other specific situations that arise
  • Create modified tutoring schedules for modified weeks, and send these to tutors to communicate to families.
 
Execute Administrative Functions and Organization for the Tutoring Center
  • Manage peer tutoring requests, applications, and interview scheduling
  • Manage and support the peer tutoring program and maintain session record-keeping
  • Schedule and coordinate all faculty and peer tutoring sessions and serve as the liaison between students/families and tutors
  • Collaborate with the student billing department to perform weekly billing for the Tutoring Center
  • Keep track of overall tutoring numbers each month
  • Proctor in accommodations room as needed
  • Host and assist with peer tutoring training at the start of each semester

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3-5 years experience in an administrative position preferred
  • Proficiency in Google sheets and Google drive functions
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Excellent in verbal and written communication skills and customer service
  • Self-motivated, team player
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 
The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.

POSITION TYPE: C: Year-round schedule. 12-Month Calendar. This position offices in-person, on campus 
 
HOURS PER WEEK: Non-Exempt, Part-Time (15 hours per week) 
 
SUPERVISOR: Dean of Academic Services
 
PAY RANGE: $18-22/hour
 
START DATE: January 6th, 2025
