Substitute Teacher
This position offices in-person, on campus
 
ROLE SUMMARY
Team members at Valor Christian High School are charged with preparing tomorrow’s leaders to transform the world for Christ. Substitute Teachers live out a compelling relationship with Jesus Christ, which is central to daily instruction and interactions with students, and team members. Through their interaction, substitute teachers instruct and support faculty members in their absence and students in their academic and spiritual development.

        Instruct students effectively for appropriate levels and courses within the subject area

        Execute lesson plans left by the absent faculty member in a way that meets the spiritual and academic needs of the students
        Appropriately integrate Biblical truth and Christian values into curriculum and instruction
        Leave thorough feedback to absent faculty regarding daily outcomes

  • Successful Substitute Teachers will advance student learning prepared by the faculty member whom they are substituting 
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required 
  • Solid Biblical and theological foundation 
  • Desire to teach and/or experience Christian education 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.

PAY RANGE: $150 per day
