ROLE SUMMARY

Valor Christian High School has a rich tradition of preparing student-athletes for success at the collegiate level. Since inception, Valor has sent well over 500 athletes to compete in DI, DII, DIII, NAIA and Junior College programs, across 30 different sports earning millions in first year scholarships. Of those 500 athletes, 47 percent received the opportunity to play at the NCAA DI level.  The Assistant Athletic Director – College Recruiting / Admissions Liaison will oversee all aspects of the development process for Valor athletes.

This position’s primary function will be to meet with student-athletes and their parents to help them navigate the college recruiting journey, with the ultimate goal of finding the best fit that fully aligns with their goals of competition at the next level and provides the greatest measure of financial support and scholarship opportunity. Valor’s expectation is that each student-athlete has an exceptional experience throughout this process and that parents feel honored, valued, and respected. To excel in this position, one must be passionate about connecting Valor student-athletes with college coaches and programs that best fit the athletic and academic needs of each student, so they have the opportunity to become all who God created them to be in this next chapter of their life.

In addition, the secondary function of the position will be to connect with student-athletes and their parents during “shadow days” and campus tours. This function will make this person the first face they recognize at Valor and the one who will introduce them at their collegiate signing day for many families. To excel in this part of the role, one must be passionate about Valor and serve our visitors by connecting them with coaches and athletic personnel while on campus. Valor’s expectation is that every visitor feels welcome and is able to meet all of the key people who will be a part of their life for their high school experience.
