Possess a Commitment to Instructional Excellence in Arts & Media
- Deliver dynamic, high-quality instruction in one or more creative disciplines such as film and digital photography, graphic design, ceramics, drawing, painting, content creation, podcasting, journalism, musical theater, voice, songwriting, music production, dance, emerging media, creative technologies, and/or additional fields showcased on our Arts+Media webpage.
- Integrate Biblical truth and Christian worldview authentically into artistic practice, helping students understand how faith shapes creativity, storytelling, cultural influence, and aesthetic purpose.
- Use innovative instructional techniques such as project-based learning, studio critique, rehearsal processes, collaborative production workflows, technology-enhanced creation, and performance-based assessment to cultivate imagination, technical proficiency, and critical thinking.
- Foster a studio, stage, or production-ready learning environment marked by mutual respect, disciplined practice, and creative risk-taking, empowering students to grow as makers, performers, thinkers, and communicators.
- Engage with a variety of curricula and levels, including introductory, conservatory, honors, dual-credit, and AP courses (where applicable), with a commitment to helping students achieve artistic excellence and personal growth.
- Collaborate closely within the Arts & Media faculty team to develop coherent scope and sequences, cross-disciplinary projects (e.g., film + acting, design + journalism, music + production), and consistent assessments that reflect both craft and rigor.

RESULTS
Valor Christian High School students will have grown in their spiritual formation as a result of dedicated faculty that provided regular experiences of God’s love, encouraged engagement with Scripture, and nurtured wise character, discernment, and active participation in Christian community both within and beyond Valor. They will be prepared for college and future careers because faculty intentionally developed their verbal, written, and technological communication skills; strengthened their critical thinking, research, and analytical abilities; and ensured they gained the competencies needed to pursue their academic and professional goals. Additionally, students will have engaged meaningfully with culture because faculty modeled Christlike leadership, compassion, and service, built students’ relational intelligence across diverse communities, equipped them to thoughtfully navigate contemporary cultural issues, and inspired them to pursue their unique passions with excellence to influence the world for Christ.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline closely related to the subject(s) to be taught
- Advanced Degree in a related area to the subject(s) being taught is preferred
- Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
- Desire to teach and/or experience within Christian education; believe deeply in the transformative power of the arts as a vehicle for worship, culture-shaping, and student formation
- We also welcome applicants who: are practicing artists, designers, performers, filmmakers, or storytellers and/or are comfortable teaching creative tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, DSLR cameras, DAWs, lighting, sound, or other media technologies
- Desire to mentor young artists, not only in skill, but in character, faith, and creative identity
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.

PAY RANGE: $53,000 - $75,000/year (Dependent on department posting and candidate experience)
