ROLE DESCRIPTION
Instructional Faculty – Arts+Media – Graphic Design
This position offices in-person, on campus
Faculty members at Valor Christian High School are charged with preparing tomorrow’s leaders to transform the world for Christ. Valor Faculty live out a compelling relationship with Jesus Christ, which is central to daily instruction and interactions with students, parents and team members. Valor Faculty are not only masters of the curriculum, but they see each student as a unique individual to be known and loved. Faculty members prepare students for college and mentor students in all aspects of their academic and spiritual development.

- Implore meaningful instructional techniques and texture in the classroom to engage a variety of learning styles and promote critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and innovation
- Provide a learning environment and classroom management style built upon mutual respect and conducive to student learning
- Understand the curriculum of a wide range of Graphic Design courses
- Collaborate with the Visual Arts team and other areas of the school to develop and deliver consistent assessments and sound instruction, as well compelling projects and initiatives

RESULTS
- Valor excels in advancing Valor’s Student Outcomes including: spiritual formation, college preparedness, and cultural engagement
- Through graphic design classes and interactions with the Faculty member, students will have the opportunity to experience God’s love and know that God has a plan and purpose for their life
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline closely related to the subjects to be taught
- Advanced Degree in a Graphic Design related area is preferred
- A minimum of three years industry experience graphic design or related fields is preferred
- Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
- Desire to teach and/or experience within Christian education
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is essential
- Experience with design technologies such 3D printing and laser engraving is highly valued.
- Experience with screen printing is desirable.
- Yearbook leadership and design experience is highly valued.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.
POSITION TYPE: A: Student-facing positions. Traditional school calendar. August - May. This position offices in-person, on campus.
HOURS PER WEEK: Full-Time, Exempt
SUPERVISOR: Visual Arts Department Chair
PAY RANGE: $45,000 - $65,000, depending on experience
START DATE: July 30th, 2024
