What You Will Do:

This position provides leadership to: (1) VHS Cardiac Education (BLS-Basic Life Support CPR, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support) to include education, quality assurance, monitoring of staff certification, equipment, and education; (2) Youth healthcare career exploration with the community; (3) Nursing continuing education including creation and review of CEU application to the VNA-Virginia Nurse's Association; (4) In collaboration with nursing leadership, creates and updates assigned policies related to nursing and clinical practice. This position requires the RN to have understanding of Magnet and Joint Commission standards, evidence based practice, patient safety, and service excellence. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal with the ability to work with internal staff and community partners. With all areas of responsibility the RN manages her/his budget(s) in a fiscally responsible manner.

What You Will Bring:

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, MSN preferred

Experience
Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse with three years education/instruction experience

Certification & Licensures
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
Based on primary state of residency and in accordance with current Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations, must be licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia with either a: Multi-state license, under the Nurse Licensure Compact OR Single-state license, valid in Virginia only

Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and managing complex functions and processes required
Current understanding of professional nursing practice trends to develop adult education programs required
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook) required
Knowledge and skills to develop adult education programs required
Knowledgeable in youth and adult learning principles required
