What You Will Do:

Performs Computed Tomography, general radiography/fluoroscopy including portable procedures, for patients of all age groups. Fully trained in all aspects of CT. Flexibility to provide additional modality coverage as needed. Works rotating weekends/shifts, holidays and overtime as needed to provide 24/7 coverage. Maintains computer skills as necessary for department functions. Follows all personnel, safety and infection control policies, National Patient Safety Goals and JC standards. Communicates with manager or department director on issues concerning departmental productivity or performance improvement. Actively supports and promotes departmental/hospital patient satisfaction efforts/goals. Completes mandatory hospital/departmental education, maintain required professional certifications and continuing education mandates necessary. Including the following: ARRT, State Licensure (if required by State), CPR, Radiation Safety, Bio-Medical Equipment Safety Check. Demonstrates good communication skills necessary to relate to physicians, peers and patients on a professional/technical level. Follows VH policy for Standards of Behavior. Attends/Reviews staff meetings/minutes. Performs CT examinations producing images of specified body parts/areas as ordered following established procedures and standards for all age groups. Utilizes and maintains all CT equipment and accessories appropriately. Correctly performs/follows radiological/fluoroscopy and additional modality exams following established protocol/policy/procedure. (In tandem with adapting procedure as appropriate for patient’s age, condition, or anatomy, verifying physician orders, making modifications of preps, exposure factors, proper identification of images, use of markers, produces high quality images w/collimation present, reviews previous studies prior to exam, checks for completeness of exam, inclusion of all appropriate images, assures all pertinent anatomy is included, for all exams for neonates to geriatric patients. Reports/communicates Critical Findings/Results to appropriate personnel. Assists physicians with invasive procedures as necessary. Supervises radiography students in the clinical setting assisting with education of positioning, anatomy, pathology, application of radiographic principles and patient care. Use of information systems technology as related to Imaging department functions. Accurately enters patient data for completion of exam. Maintains technologic knowledge to correct patient data and limits the number of unspecified imaging data. Used good organizational skills in the performance of job duties. Other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.

What You Will Bring:


Associates Radiologic Technology

2 Years Clinical experience as a CT technologist in a hospital setting preferred.

Certification & Licensures
WV Radiologic Technologist license required
ARRT (R) Registered with satisfactory completion of an AMA accredited Radiology Technology program ARRT (R) Registered with satisfactory completion of an AMA accredited Radiology Technology program
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required **
ARRT (CT) Registered or registry eligible certification required within 2 years of hire date * ARRT (R) Registered with satisfactory completion of an accredited Radiology Technology program. ** New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

•Competence in performing general diagnostic radiography/fluoroscopy/OR and portable radiography examination and procedures on patients of all ages. •Must be able to work with Radiography students with varying skill levels. •Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development and competence in providing Radiologic Services for patients of all ages including neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric. •Demonstrates good communication skills necessary to relate to Physicians, peers and patients on a professional/technical level. •Must be able to work weekdays/weekends/holidays any shift as needed. •Ability to provide additional modality coverage as needed.
