What You Will Do:

Provides leadership and management for the services and operations of the Pharmacy Department of Winchester Medical Center. Responsible for safe, timely and efficacious medication management. Responsible for recruitment and employee engagement. Functions as the Pharmacist in Charge for the Winchester Medical Center. Assures compliance with all regulatory requirements and completes development, implementation and monitoring policies and procedures. Develops and reviews budgets and identifies and initiates cost saving/avoidance strategies in the departments. Collaborates with all disciplines to assure a team approach to quality medication use, incorporating principles of high reliability.

What You Will Bring:

Education

Bachelors Pharmacy (PharmD) required
Masters Residency or equivalent years of management experience required

Experience
5 years Institutional Pharmacy Management required
At least 3 years of which must be in a management capacity with successful demonstration of financial, technical and human resource skills

Certification & Licensures
Pharmacist License - Virginia required 3 months of employment


Qualifications
• Knowledgeable of daily, monthly and annual laboratory budgeting, operations, financial monitoring
• Current knowledge of pharmacy staffing for volume solutions, productivity assessment and integration of TJC patient safety goals required
• Current knowledge of standards of practice and advancements in medication use
• Current knowledge of and compliance with all Board of Pharmacy, state and federal requirements
• Current knowledge / competence in providing service to patients of all ages
• Demonstrated excellence in communication and computer skills, both written and verbal, to lead a workgroup setting the example for professionalism, data driven decision making, and up to date scientific knowledge for the delivery of consistent excellence in patient care
• Ability to support Corporate, entity Vice Presidents and outside customers in quality systems management, development and retention of human resources, and all laboratory initiatives both intra and interdepartmental required
