What You Will Do:

The unit clerk on the ACS/Swing Bed Unit functions under the direction of the ACS Unit Director, Nursing Supervisor, and/or charge nurse. They are responsible for carrying out the accurate transcription of all physician orders. Their duties include all of the ordering of supplies for the unit as well as ordering all specialty beds and equipment as directed by the charge nurses. Unit Clerks are the receptionist for the unit, in that role they are the first contact that our patients have. They are also responsible for all of the secretarial duties throughout the unit; maintaining the faxes and copiers, keeping appropriate forms filed on the patient charts as well as blank copies of new order sheets and progress notes, maintaining appropriate paper stock of the nursing charting forms, and maintaining a clean and organized nursing station.

Education

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent

Experience
Previous experience as clerk or receptionist or have similar position in a hospital

Certification & Licensures
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
