What You Will Do:

Clinical Documentation Specialist collaborates extensively with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and medical records coding staff / HIM to improve quality and completeness of documentation of care provided and coded; facilitates concurrent modifications to clinical documentation to ensure accurate clinical severity and services rendered to all patients; supports timely, accurate, and complete documentation of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and facility outcomes; educates all members of the patient care team on an ongoing basis.

What You Will Bring:

Education

Bachelors Nursing (BSN) required, or obtain within three years of hire

Experience
Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical nursing experience required, acute care preferred

Certification & Licensures
Registered Nurse license in Commonwealth of Virginia required
CCS or CPHM or CCDS certification required, or obtain within three years of hire
