What You Will Do:

The Administrative Resident program is designed to cultivate leaders in the field of academic health care by fostering close working relationships with senior leadership while exposing the resident to a diverse array of system-level operational activities. Resident will gain exposure to the entire Valley Health System (VHS) and its subsidiaries. Residents spend a portion of their time in rotations. Rotations take the residents throughout all aspects of the hospital, but can also be catered in accordance with the resident's individual learning objectives and interests. Rotations will encompass numerous areas and will expose resident to the clinical, academic, research and operational areas of the organization. The one year residency is designed to provide the resident with system-level learning through projects focused on the highest strategic initiatives of VHS, as well as provide experience in day-to-day operations of an academic medical center through rotations and immersion experiences.

Residency is structured as follows:
Leadership
Residents also have the opportunity to participate in leadership meetings and community initiatives to ascertain a high-level understanding of the organization as well as to observe various leadership and managerial styles.
These meetings offer the residents exceptional learning opportunities and help them build a complete understanding of current initiatives within the organization.
System wide projects
To gain practical experience, residents also spend a portion of their time completing projects. Projects are largely based on the residents' rotation schedule and their respective areas of interest.

Bachelors required
Masters Business, Healthcare Administration or related field required, or enrolled in final year

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Ability to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines required
