What You Will Do:

The Director of Nursing Professional Practice, Innovation, Research and EBP has broad expertise in the delivery of nursing professional practice, including models for care delivery and models of professional practice. The Director is responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing the care delivery and professional practice model for nursing and for creating a professional practice environment that drives efficient and high quality care.
The Director of Nursing Professional Practice, Innovation, Research and EBP is responsible for the development of care delivery and professional practice models throughout care areas and is responsible for developing a model for fostering nursing research and evidence based practice across Valley Health. The Director participates and supports front line measures in pursing and completing research and EBP endeavors. The Director will have direct supervision of all nursing excellence programs such as the Magnet Program and Pathways to Excellence designations.

What You Will Bring:


Masters Science of Nursing (MSN) in Healthcare or related field of study required
DNP or PhD in Healthcare or Nursing-related field of study or evidence of enrollment at hire with required completion within 2 years of employment

7 years of hospital/healthcare related experience required
5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred
Significant previous management experience in the areas of Magnet and Pathways to Excellence programs, evidence-based practice (EBP), clinical practice standards, and clinical outcomes data.
Strong knowledge of excel and other analytic software.
Prior experience driving and transforming culture within nursing through strong change management and influencing capabilities.
Experience working with senior nursing and hospital administrators, governing boards and external service associations.

Certification & Licensures
RN License (VA state licensure) required
Advanced Nursing or Healthcare Administration Certification preferred

Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and evaluate information system and processes that promote desired patient, professional, and organizational outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams and executive leaders.
