What You Will Do:
Participates in staff development and oversees department orientation for all new employees. Responsible for onboarding and initial orientation of all staff. Directly responsible for training and orientation of all technicians. Works with the technician supervisor, bar code technician, point of care technician and the IV room clinical staff pharmacists to develop, implement, document, and measure ongoing education for all technicians, intermediate technicians and advance technicians. Establishes and maintains initial and yearly competencies for department staff. Possess strong preceptor and organizational skills. Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Ensures pharmacy training materials are compliant with but not limited to USP 795, USP 795, Board of Pharmacy and Joint Commission. Assists clinical staff pharmacists with the documentation of education of staff pharmacists. Able to develop training and document in on-line educational platforms.
What You Will Bring:
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
Five years Pharmacy Technician experience with demonstrated ability in training and precepting required
Certification & Licensures
CPTB certified or equivalent required
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge and experience in institutional pharmacy practice
Content expert for training and employing technicians in expanded roles
Knowledge and skills to develop adult education programs required
Understanding of Performance Improvement, High Reliability and outcomes management required
Competency in WORD and Excel, and solid computer skills required
Exceptional sterile compounding technique experience required
