What You Will Do:
The LPN role focuses on preventive healthcare, health promotion, and health restoration within the context of a safe and healthy work environment. The LPN performs routine patient and provider needs which include, but are not limited to: Obtaining vital signs, awareness of abnormalities and notifies appropriate parties, educate customers on their health care needs, prioritize phone calls and limited medication administration. The LPN must be competent in computer skills and use of software applications related to Occupational Health. Maintains safe environment and reports any problems, supports the VH Mission Statement, new policies and procedures, and assist when requested in Performance Improvement studies. Standards of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing include Assessment, Outcome Identification, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Resource Management, Professional Development, Collaboration, Research and the use of an ethical framework for decision-making. Through proper assessment, application of current standards, adequate review and follow-up, the OHN assists employees in the prevention of adverse health effects from occupational and environmental hazards and health promotion in general.
What You Will Bring:
Licensed Practical Nurse
3 Years LPN experience preferred Clinical experience and comprehensive knowledge of infection control and occupational health principles and standards required.
Certification & Licensures
LPN License required *
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved
Valid Driver’s License required
Notary Public for Virginia credentials required or obtained within 60 days * Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia with multi-state privileges or WV licensure preferred. ** New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Ability to efficiently assess customer needs and provide appropriate guidance required Requires a positive attitude, courteous, welcoming, helpful and pleasant, cooperative and professional demeanor at all times Knowledge of computer software used to effectively and efficiently scan, enter, track and recall data required Well organized, attention to detail and time management, strives to meet deadlines in an organized timely manner Ability to work independently and effectively set priorities and goals required Ability to be independent decision-maker who remains productive under stressful situations required Ability to keep information confidential with a thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations required Ability to provide administrative support to EOHS, Operations Manager required
