We are looking for a Director of Resort Marketing who will lead the charge in the development and management of all marketing for the resort, growing skier visits, lodging room nights and driving revenue. He/she partners with Sales Team, resort counter-parts and corporate marketing teams to meet Keystone Resort and overall Vail Resorts Marketing and Sales goals and objectives. A successful candidate for this position is assertive, gets out-front of the competition and trends, re-thinks the status-quo, is innovative in their approach, but rigorous in their analytics. Candidates must have proven examples where they have owned an agenda with measurable success and demonstrable results. Candidates also must have strong collaborative and consensus building skills, operate with positive intent and enjoy investing time and interest into their teams’ development and success. And they must be willing to have a ton of fun.
- Manage and refine the positioning of the resort brand in the marketplace
- Develop and manage all aspects of the resorts marketing effort, including but not limited to: online marketing and e-commerce, advertising, direct and e-mail marketing, event marketing, collateral materials, promotions and all in-resort marketing.
- Drive revenue for all resort businesses, including lodging, lift tickets and season passes, food and beverage, ski and snowboard school, conference center, spa, golf, rentals, activities, downhill bike park and more.
- Manage communication with important community and employee constituencies relative to marketing initiatives, brand strategy/standards, etc. This includes representing the resort at local boards and home owner associations.
- Manages the event strategy and execution for the resort.
- Work closely with the corporate lift ticket pricing department to identify & maximize revenue opportunities.
- Contributes to the regional and national sales strategy partnering with the Director of Sales.
- Manage marketing contracts and programs with creative agencies, partners, etc.
- Work within approved marketing budgets with discipline related to forecasts.

Based on Vail Resorts core leadership competenticies. the Director of Resort Marketing will:
- Drive: Lead strategy, develop and manage overall marketing strategies and campaigns for Keystone Resort (mountain and hospitality). Parnter with Keystone Resort leadership team and corporate business units to create marketing strategies that support our mission statement (Experience of a lifetime.™) and drive business/revenue objectives.
- Re-Imagine: Successful at offering ‘outside the box’ marketing strategies; get out-front of the competition and trends; rethink the status-quo, is innovative in their approach, but rigorous in their analytics
- Connect: Demonstrate the ability to work with multiple marketing partners, operations, finance and other divisions to reach revenue and business goals in resort/hospitality.
- Out Front: Serve as a respected community industry leader and act as the resort representative on local boards and associations
- Develop: Provide leadership and direction to the team. Identify coaching and mentoring opporutnities. Foster and develop a culture of teamwork, employee development, and accountabiltily.
- Passion: Demonstrate an unyielding passion for the guest experience, culture, mission and vision. Lead by example and inpsire others to follow.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field required
- 7+ years of experience in marketing/branding required; preferable with experience in travel/tourism, lodging, conference, mountain resorts and/or leisure activity businesses
- 4+ years of supervisory experience; previous fiscal responsibility/ownership
- Proficient with MS Office
- Intermediate or better skier or snowboarder required
- Prior ski resort marketing experience preferred
