Job Description:

 

The Assistant Manager ensures proper functioning facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance.  Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of the building maintenance technicians in the performance of routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on a variety of utilities (gas, water, sewer, electrical), commercial kitchen, and building electro-mechanical systems and equipment.  Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other departments.   Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and buisness plan; receives guidance and oversight from Manager.

 

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Manage the work order tracking system & scheduling work load
  • Manage the maintenance staff and service contractors associated with all work related tasks
  • Direct and supervise maintenance on building heating and ventilating systems and controls
  • Direct and supervise maintenance on commercial kitchen cooking equipment
  • Direct and supervise seasonal painting and carpentry technicians on the completion of seasonal special projects as assigned
  • Assist in the trouble shooting and diagnose problems
  • Be able to operate a DDC (direct digital control) system from remote computer access points for building automated controlls.
  • This position will have involvement with the hiring & disciplinary function related to SABM
  • Exhibit strong customer service and supervisory skills
  • Work with corporate buyers to facilitate purchasing necessary materials to perform tasks.
  • Responsibilities include the mantaining of the records, MSDS, confinded spaces, safety & training, alarm & safety maping, tools & equipment and other records as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High School Degree, or equivalent - required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in HVAC/R - strongly preferred
  • Plumbing, or Construction experience is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years technical trade supervision
  • Certification in CFC handling
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Must have a working knowledge of operating a DDC system and the use of a computer-based work order system
