The magnitude of beauty at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort (http://www.vailmarriott.com) is one that defines the elegance of a European Chateau with the back drop of the Rocky Mountains. The Vail Marriott Mountain Resort and Spa is now hiring a Restaurant Server, Full Time Seasonal.

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring that all Resort guests have the highest quality food and beverage dining experience possible while assisting in the creation of a profitable department that is environmentally responsible. Follows the brand standards from the beginning of the service cycle through the entire dining process. Exhibits strong menu and beverage/wine knowledge, is professional and gracious while enhancing the dining experience through outstanding service skills. .

 Job Functions

• Exhibits strong menu, beverage and wine knowledge and makes recommendations to guests on various offerings.
• Ensures that the guest experience is pleasant in regard to atmosphere, service, pace of dining and quality of food and beverage products by adhering to the RockResort and Marriott brand standards.
• Consistently adheres to the uniform standards and always looks clean, neat and professional.
• Handles all opening and/or closing duties required to properly operate First Chair, Outdoor Pool and Dining Area.  Ensures that all stocking is done, the tables are properly set, and the dining room is clean and ready for service.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and comprehend English fluently. -required
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience. -required
• Minimum of 1 year experience in guest service. -required
• 1 year front of the house food & beverage experience. -required
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form to guests, managers and employees. -required
• Must be TIPS certified or able to become TIPS certified within 30 days of hire. -required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. -required
• Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours at a time. -required
• Must be able to work weekends, mornings, holidays and evenings. -required
• End of Season commitment, September 10th 2014. -required
• Must provide 2 satisfactory references. -required
• Ability to speak Spanish. -preferred
• Knowledge of wine is helpful. -preferred
• In-person interviews. -required
