Keystone is currently interested in speaking with experienced lift mechanics of all levels. We have a rare opening on our team and we are looking for someone interested in living in beautiful Summit County year round. The position is perfect for someone who wants to learn and grow with the department. Compensation will be dependent upon your experience and certifications.

The primary responsibility of this position at Keystone is to ensure the safe and reliable mechanical operation of lifts, with emphasis on proficiency, instruction, safety, and leadership in all areas of Lift Maintenance.  The Mechanic ensures that the Lift Mechanical Manager, Lift Dispatch, and Department Director are immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure safe and reliable mechanical operation of lifts.
  • Follow the company’s safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Perform and schedule of all preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure that lifts are in compliance with CPTSB and other applicable codes and regulations.
  • Respond, as assigned, to lift failures to productively resolve these situations in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining all tools, equipment, and vehicles as assigned.
  • Responsible for recording all information of work performed on lifts and submitting lift records in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to evacuate a lift under auxiliary power in all circumstances.
  • Level III Mechanics will be responsible for the performance and training of Lift Maintenance personnel  in all routine and assigned maintenance procedures under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and Mechanic Lead.

 

Job Qualifications:

 

 Level I:

  • High school diploma or equivalent  - required
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License - preferred
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • Able and willing to work in inclement weather on high structures
  • Basic working knowledge of desktop computer systems and applications
  • Intermediate level skier would be helpful
  • Climbing certified or ability to obtain – required
  • Understand all major components of a lift and their purpose
  • Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Must be at least 21 years old

 

Level II :

  • Minimum two years specific experience in Lift Maintenance
  • General understanding of ANSI and CPTSB codes
  • Able to complete, unassisted, detachable lift service and terminal inspections

 

Level III:

  • Proficient in all phases of Lift Mechanic III requirements.
  • Must be proficient at troubleshooting all “down” lifts.
  • Must maintain reasonable level of spare parts to ensure full repair capability.
  • At least four years of lift maintenance experience - required
  • Proven Master-Level Lift Mechanic skills and abilities
  • Must be knowledgeable of regulatory codes as they pertain to lifts
  • Snowmobile and vehicle trained - required
  • Certified Level II NDT Inspector - required
  • Ability to perform major lift modifications
  • Ability to overhaul or rebuild all line and terminal equipment

 

This position requires holiday and weekends as well as the ability to work a night shift during the winter and summer.
