The 10th on Vail Mountain is seeking a talented career oriented individual with creativity, a passion for food and who is committed to delivering excellence at all times. Individual is to possess intermediate cooking and knife skills with an emphasis on banquets. Must have the ability to work un supervised and always has a sense of urgency. You are expected to adhere to the company’s mission, vision and value statements. Be knowledgeable of the company’s management systems, policies and initiatives for Vail Mountain Dining, Environmental, and Health and Safety. You have specific responsibilities within these areas and are expected to understand them.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Responsible for food preparation and production for the event as assigned.
- Perform tasks for the banquet as per the Banquet Event Order – BEO.
- Assist in plate up of the banquet.
- 100% compliance in use of cut glove policy
- Ensure all the coolers, freezers and walk ins is maintained at companies, health inspector’s food safety standards and HAACP standards, including daily logging of refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- Follows and enforces kitchen safety regulations.
- Help other departments when need arises
- Break down and clean up kitchen upon completion of banquet.
- Ability to wash dishes, pot and pans.
Qualifications:
- Previous Experience cooking in a professional kitchen is a must - required.
- Must possess the following key essential qualities - Adaptability, Flexibility, Positive attitude, even temperament and a keen eye for detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent - required.
- Must be able to lift 40+Lbs - required.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English - required.
- Ability to work standing for 8+ hours - required.
- Flexibility in scheduling, ability to work weekends and holidays - required.
- Formal Culinary Training and emphasis on banquet operations - preferred.
- Some baking and pastry training - preferred.
- Serv Safe Certification - preferred.
