Description

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE

·    The purpose of Lift maintenance is to provide safe, efficient and reliable transportation to are guests and employees of the canyons resort.

·    To operate chair lifts within the guidelines of Utah tramway safety committee rules and ansi b 77 code books.

·    Install and repair a variety of electrical equipment and systems.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times.
  •  Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines.
  • During winter season perform all regular duties of a lift technician 1.
  • Install new electrical equipment and systems, working on one or more of the following: ski lifts, snowmaking equipment, electrical systems for buildings, telephone and other communications systems.
  • Locate, assess and repair electrical failures, breakage’s or other problems.
  • Remove old electrical wiring/equipment and replace with new service/parts.
  • Perform various electrical maintenance/upkeep tasks, to keep systems/equipment in good working order.
  • Assist in designing and fabricating new electrical devices/systems.
  • Maintain tools and equipment used in electrical work.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned, including lift mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Provide ongoing training and development to lift technicians and lift operators.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

  • Moderate supervision is received from The Lift Maintenance Manager, Supervisor or other senior staff member.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·    Ability to work at significant heights. 

  • Exposure to inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Bending, squatting, climbing, lifting heavy objects.
  • Manual dexterity.
  •  Ability to operate a vehicle, snowmobile or four wheeler.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard.

Other requirements

·     Must have valid drivers license.

·     Must be able to speak, read and write in English.

·    Reliable transportation.

·    Ability to work rotating schedule including weekends and nights.

·    Personal hand tools required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education, plus a four year electrical apprenticeship, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Broad base of technical knowledge and skills related to electrical circuitry and equipment, and electronics, including installation, failure diagnosis and repair.
  •  Journeyman electricians license desirable.
  • Previous experience directly related to the specific position, that is, ski lifts, snowmaking, buildings.
  • Excellent basic administrative and supervisory skills, if applicable to the position.
