Der Fondue Chessel is a fondue lover’s dream, whether it’s a cozy dinner for two or a fun group gathering. Our guests enjoy authentic a fondue experience atop Keystone's North Peak Mountain - two gondola rides from the River Run Base.  Entry Cooks are focused on providing the best possible customer service and the preparation of food for our Mountain Dining Outlets in a timely and correct manner.

  • Follow prep sheets accurately and with a sense of urgency.
  • Read, understand, and follow recipes, standards and management expectations.
  • Rotate product appropriately and maintain a clean & sanitary work station.
  • Other duties, including cleaning, stewarding, and other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge and application of sanitary practices, personal hygiene, safe food handling, and basic kitchen practices.
  • Desire and ability to work as part of a team as well as completing tasks with minimal supervision at times.
  • Converstaional level and written English a requirement.
  • Must adhere to all safety/food handling/chemical trainings and encourage and participate in a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Prior cooking experience in high volume situations, strongly preferred.
  • Washing dishes, cleaning kitchens, stocking, and prep are essential job functions and required for this position.
  • All food court cook positions require guest facing interactions, excellent guest service & a desire to provide an experience of a lifetime to every guest is an essential function of this position.
  • This position requires Certified Slip Resistant shoes PRIOR to the first day of work in the outlet, the candiate is required to provide their own shoes.
  • This position will involve lifting (up to 40lbs), standing and walking for long periods of time (up to 10  hours), mixed scheduling (days, evenings), working weekends and holidays, utilizing kitchen equipment (slicers, knives, dish machines, chemicals), and possible outdoor work.

 

 

Additional Information:

This position is located at the Outpost Restaurants atop North Peak Mountain. This is a remote location and access is only via 2 gondola/chairlift rides in the winter. Evacuations and shut downs are a possibility, employees may be required to leave the building via snowcat, snowmobile or other means of transportation. Adaptability and flexibility are a must in this position, the right candidate will maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges, embrace the Vail Resorts service culture, and will maintain a sense of cooperation with the other outlets in the building. This position requires an unpaid commute in 2 (unheated) gondola/chairlifts and the employee will be expected to arrive on time, despite delays in chair/gondola operation.

 

Compensation is $10.00/hour
