Essential Job Functions:
The Entry level Line Cook prepares and serves food to our guests in a timely and friendly manner. This position may require that the employee use a knife, slicer, ovens, steam tables or any other piece of kitchen equipment as required. Daily responsibilities for the Entry Line Cook include, but are not limited to: stocking, maintaining and cleaning service area, preparing food items, bussing tables and delivering food. All employees are charged with the responsibility to follow all rules and policies of the facility they are employed and Vail Resorts Inc. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older - required
- High school diploma or equivalent - required
- Must be able to read, write, speak, comprehend and understand English conversationally - required
- Must be committed to providing excellent guest service - required
- Must have at least 2 years of previous work experience in any field - required
- Positive work ethic
- Team-oriented attitude
- Previous cook experience - preferred
- Previous Food & Beverage experience in a fast paced environment - preferred
- Must be able or willing to learn to properly use all kitchen equipment (Knives, Slicers, Ovens, Grills, Steam Tables…etc)
- Able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours in a shift
- Able to lift, bend, and carry items with a combined weight of 30 lbs
- Flexible to assist in all areas of restaurant as required
- Must be able to learn and practice all rules and regulations of Safety and Sanitation
- Early mornings, weekends, holidays and/or evenings may be required
- Certified non-slip shoes required to begin work
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- End of Season Commitment - required
