Are you a high energy, relationship oriented leader with a passion for creating and implementing strategic talent acquisition solutions?  Does the thought of overseeing Mountain Operations, Hospitality and Retail seasonal and year round staffing excite you?  Do you have expertise in the management and development of your team? The Vail & Beaver Creek Talent Acquisition Manager will partner with business and human resource leaders and the Vail Resorts enterprise-wide Talent Acquisition team to ensure effective staffing for all seasons!

 

The cool job you would  get to do:

  • Act as the single point of accountability for local stakeholders.
  • Serves as local SME for Talent Acquisition.
  • Develops deep understanding of stakeholder’s business
  • Leads the Resort Recruiters on both mountains that fill year round and seasonal staffing needs for Mountain Operations, Hospitality and Retail Operations for both winter and summer.
  • Creates customized yet coordinated TA strategy to generate qualified candidate flow to meet business demand on staffing.
  • Leads strategic employment marketing and branding initiatives.
  • Leads job fairs, local college/university recruitment, and social media recruiting.
  • Partners with Hiring Managers to create an international staffing plan.
  • Directs day-to-day TA delivery operations based on strategies, including budgets, team and individual staffing assignments, candidate sourcing channels, candidate flow and operational metrics.
  • Tracks and reports staffing demand, hired, gaps, etc.
  • Conducts strategic meetings with hiring managers to ensure accurate workforce demand planning and effective /timely posting schedule of seasonal and year round positions.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with HR Directors regarding staffing levels, TA programs, etc.
  • Partners with Hiring Managers to create and deliver ATS training and interviewing class schedules based on business demands.
  • Leads and/or participates in special projects such as optimization.
  • Responsible for development of recruiters increased knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Conducts goal setting, performance evaluation, improvement plans and IDPs.
  • Inspires and manages team to deliver a high-volume work load.  
  • Provides professional communication and interaction in person, on the phone and through email.
  • Utilizes reports to audit and drive for a balanced score card.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on internal hiring process and system.
  • Ensures compliant hiring practices.  
  • Responsible for AAP, EEO, OFCCP reporting.
  • Partners with local HR team to ensure efficiency and compliance in Vail Resorts background check process.
  • Participates as an active member of the local Human Resources team.
  • Achieves all financial goals including meeting budget and following PO process.
  • Ensures equitable resource allocations.
  • Resolves escalated issues.

 

What we ideally are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of full life cycle recruiting in a high volume environment.
  • Prior experience in recruiting, HR or business operations of a resort or hospitality setting, retail or seasonal environment.
  • A passion for the mountains required with  familiarity of Vail and Beaver Creek  area preferred.
  • A career path with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Proven experience leading a team to achieve objectives.
  • Enjoys leading and being a part of a larger team
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships and interact with all levels in the organization, including executives.
  • Proven ability to build internal and external customer/candidate relationships.
  • Experience successfully planning and delivering projects, programs and process improvements.
  • Experience in recruitment marketing and branding experience, including social networks.
  • Experience successfully leading and implementing change.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Experience with SuccessFactors and PeopleSoft is a plus
  • Experience in Affirmative Action Planning and EEO Reporting.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships.
