Who We Are Looking For
USANA Health Sciences is seeking a knowledgeable research minded college student to join the research and development team as an intern. As an intern, you will primarily work on researching scientific literature to evaluate ingredients and product functions pertaining to USANA product strategy, particularly USANA’s InCelligence Technology®.
In this position, you will receive useful work experience that—when coupled with your education—may provide you greater opportunity and preparation for future employment. We are looking for someone who is meticulous with details and research, can work quickly and efficiently, and is eager to bring their knowledge and contribute their ideas to this team.
What You Will Do as a Science Intern
  • Use scientific literature to conduct research and arrive at conclusions regarding a specific product claim, which includes the following:
    • Review thoroughly relevant articles and extract the data from the articles that inform the findings of the articles and the quality of the findings
    • Analyze the obtained data with statistical method and arrive at a highly concise conclusion
  • Interpret the result in a plain and logical way and present the result to colleagues at R&D and other departments
  • Attend business and research meetings to present research finding to various audiences
What You Will Need
  • Must be enrolled or have immediately graduated from a college or university in a degree program related to science
  • Basic knowledge of biological science, especially in molecular biology and nutrition, and able to relate the knowledge to product development
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Able to conduct detail-oriented and organized works that demands accuracy
  • Ability of critical thinking necessary for literature review
  • Highly motivated to research that aims to promotes health and prevents disease
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills with demonstrated abilities using web-based applications, electronic data capture, and MS Word or Excel
*Internship will run May through mid-August, in conjunction with summer term.
