Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced, highly organized professional to join the USANA quality control department as a quality control lab specialist in microbiology. In this position, you will independently conduct laboratory tests, following precise procedures involving chemical, biological, or physical analysis methods. You will also contribute to seamlessly transferring new or revised test methods and developing comprehensive equipment validation and qualification protocols.
What You Will Do as USANA’s Quality Control Lab Specialist Microbiology
- Assist in the development of material specifications for raw materials and finished products
- Review notebooks, assay data, and computational functions for final material review before release
- Assist in the evaluation of potential new laboratory equipment and method validation
- Interpret data trends, perform trend and statistical analysis, and assist in advanced problem-solving of analytical processes and methods
- Perform OOS tests, write test protocols, and conduct root-cause investigations
- Conduct scientific experiments, analyze results, and assist in advanced problem-solving of microbiological processes and methods
- Swab microbiology lab as directed and train other members of the QC operations team on proper swabbing and aseptic techniques
Background and Skills You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable science field required
- Minimum 5 years microbiology laboratory experience
- Possess a high degree of in-depth knowledge in one or more biological methodology/instrument
- Experienced in regulatory/pharmacopeia requirements for product testing and method validation
- Ability to perform complex scientific mathematical functions
