We were founded by Neka Pasquale, a licensed Acupuncturist who saw first-hand the healing power of food with her patients.   • Performs daily sanitation of all processing lines.
  • Performs daily sanitation activities within the processing plant as well as the grounds surrounding the processing plant, including the Support Center to ensure food safety and food defense for Urban Remedy.
  • Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
  • Ensures safety is a priority in day to day operations.
  • Can read and interpret MSDS information, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains a supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations.
  • Follows sanitation requirements and maintenance required by the master sanitation schedule, and/or end of week sanitation activities.

Position-Specific Skills

  • A working knowledge of food technology, food science, microbiology or chemistry required.
  • An understanding of pathogens and other food contaminants is required as well as an understanding of modes of control of various sanitation chemicals and physical cleaning required.
  • Must be able to read and understand chemical labels.
  • Read and understand HACCP along with FDA and OSHA requirements.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with group.
  • Must be approachable and able to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to lead and inspire others.
  • Able to achieve results through others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have basic understanding of inventory methods.
  • Ability to promote a safe work environment.
  • Work Schedule: Sunday through Thursday from 3am-11:30am, must be willing to work overtime (when needed).

Technical Skills Required

  • Must have strong quantitative skills.
  • Able to think critically.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, including electronically.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills required. MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.

Education/Training Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-year related work experience required.
  • Experience and knowledge in food sanitation operations, procedures, chemicals and program standards, preferably in a general food or manufacturing industry.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • HACCAP Certification preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.


  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors; in a food processing plant and support center with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities and in an office environment.
  • Position requires working around processing plant equipment, farm equipment, and transport trucks. Must be physically capable of working extended hours (seasonally) in a wet and/or cold environment, working outdoors, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment and vehicles.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and physically perform requirements of job.
  • Sitting 20%, walking 40%, standing 40%.
  • Long periods of standing, twisting and bending.
