We are seeking a Senior Manager/Director of C&I Demand Flexibility  to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.     
    
What You Get To Do:     
     
Our Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) aggregate diversified portfolios of distributed energy resources (DERs) to deliver clean, reliable, and cost-effective grid services to electric utilities and power markets.  The Director of C&I Demand Flexibility will be responsible for driving the appropriate industry partnerships to successfully recruit commercial and industrial facilities to provide load flexibility for various VPP, demand response, and DER programs. As part of this work, the Director of C&I Demand Response may also be required to co-sell DR directly to C&I customers with AutoGrid flexibility partners. This individual should have a deep understanding of the sales process for C&I DR programs (ideally including national accounts), as well as experience negotiating and managing channel partnerships with other C&I vendors (ESCOs, aggregators, EaaS providers, etc).  The scope of this role spans from initial partner qualification and acquisition through to mobilizing partners to recruit into VPPs.  Success will be measured by achieving annual C&I recruitment targets by region and customer type and by the amount of C&I flexible MW that can be accessed through our partner network.     
     
What You Bring To Uplight     
     
  • Prior demonstrated success in demand response sales to commercial and industrial customers     
  • Strong working knowledge of utility and power market demand response landscape, including program rules, operations, and economics     
  • High level understanding of various DER technologies including battery technologies, distributed generation, load management strategies, and various forms of automated load control     
  • Familiarity with common building systems and curtailment strategies.  Ability to guide customers and partners through demand response scenarios and options.      
  • Familiarity with microgrid design concepts and how microgrids can participate in flexibility programs     
  • Experienced at developing customized sales strategies and account plans     
  • Demonstrated accountability for DR sales pipeline maintenance      
  • Familiarity with commercial DR agreement negotiation and common contract terms     
  • Proven ability to negotiate, execute, and drive effective partnership agreements     
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in developing and applying solutions to problems in real time     
  • Impeccable organization and attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously     
  • Comfortable and proficient in reporting and presenting to senior stakeholders both within AutoGrid as well as external partners and customers     
  • Proficiency with common office tools including Microsoft Excel (basic financial analysis including the use of pivot tables), Google Workspace, and Salesforce

Salary Range: $115,000 to $167,000 USD  + variable compensation

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
