We are seeking a Vice President, Grid Asset Optimization to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:
As the Vice President of Grid Asset Optimization, you will have oversight of Uplight’s business with owners and operators of both behind-the-meter and front-of-meter assets around the world. Your time will be split between leading your team’s sales efforts, defining and implementing channel sales strategies, and guiding the Product and Delivery teams on long term strategy.
What you will contribute:
  • Define KPIs for tracking business performance and manage business to deliver on objectives
  • Develop and execute partner strategy
  • Refine and adapt proposed budget to reflect growth aspirations for the business, including cost structure, revenue and margin targets, etc.
  • Represent the business in public forums
  • Validate and adjust product strategy, and work with Product Management to ensure execution
    • High level product ‘philosophy’ (e.g., we have decided we don’t trade, but what are the other core pillars? Market integration but not market access, for example.)
    • Work with PMM to determine how to position ourselves relative to competitors’ offerings
    • Work with International Sales lead to ensure alignment with product roadmap
  • Work with Delivery team to identify and avoid delivery failures
What you bring to Uplight:
  • Industry knowledge
    • A minimum of 5-10 years working with owners or operators of large-scale grid assets including energy storage
    • A minimum of 5 year working for an enterprise software company
  • Commercial drive
    • A proven track record of leading sales teams to outperform
    • Experienced leader who empathizes with customers and can provide value added solutions to their needs
    • Ability to travel 30%+ of the time
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
    • Entrepreneurial attitude and familiarity with the strategies and tactics needed to develop and grow new business opportunities
    • Relentless desire to win and be the industry leader
    • Eagerness to collaborate with other Uplighters and roll-up your sleeves to get deals done in a industry space that is still maturing 
  • Leadership
    • Experience bringing together various internal and external stakeholders and moving them toward a common goal
    • The confidence, intelligence, and experience to challenge the status quo, stand up for what’s right, and negotiate with industry-leading players

Salary Range $192,000 to $240,000 USD + variable compensation
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
