We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.

We will consider this role for continued remote work with some work/travel to our offices in Denver, Boulder, Boston, Chicago or Vancouver.

The Senior Software Engineer will play an important role in specifying our in-house technology requirements and helping to develop highly scalable software. The successful candidate will have solid communication skills, be detail oriented, show leadership and an exemplary work ethic. Most likely the successful candidate will be someone who has a computer science background with considerable industry experience.

What you will contribute:

  • A passion for web development and an interest in sharing that with others
  • Knowledge of advanced data organization concepts, such as sharding
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures, web services, and Cloud technologies

What you bring to Uplight:

  • 5+ years of experience developing custom production-level PHP / MySQL applications
  • Experience with MVC-based frameworks and/or Zend Framework
  • MySQL, Relational database design including queries and stored procedures
  • Expert at object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns
  • Portfolio and code samples showing work that demonstrates OOP PHP programming
  • CSS
  • Javascript 
  • Working knowledge of Subversion or Git
  • LAMP server administration 
  • Front end and back-end development experience

Bonus Points:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop highly scalable web applications
  • Experience with other PHP frameworks utilizing the MVC design pattern
  • Linux administration skills
  • Experience with jQuery
  • Front End development skills

Salary Range: $124,000 to $139,000

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
