We are seeking a Software Engineer II, Delivery to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:
Members of the Delivery Engineering Team are responsible for configuring our software for each customer, including writing custom code that enhances the software for a customer’s requirements. These enhancements may be applicable to only one customer or needed as a roadmap acceleration initiative which will later be included in the core product. As such, Delivery Engineer’s work is both demanding and highly rewarding as the services have a high impact on Uplight’s and our customers' mission-critical performance.
The Professional Services Engineering team is responsible for:
- Configuring software for customers
- Defining use cases for custom requirements
- Scoping the work to implement use cases
- Implementing of use cases
- Testing of end to end solutions
- Training customers as needed
- Assisting in the analysis and resolution of field issues when escalated by customer support
- Upgrading of software periodically to introduce new functionality
- Maintaining and enhancing integration with third-party hardware and software
What you will contribute:
- Install & configure Autogrid-FLEX software in customer environment as per Statement of Work (SOW)
- Develop & maintain scripts for integration with custom requirements
- Query and manipulate data to generate custom reports that unlock additional value from data
- Participate in requirements gathering, the design process, product reviews, and deployment activities
- Troubleshoot systems hardware and software when issues occur
- Provide level 2 support and escalate these to product development as appropriate
- Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Document procedures needed to resolve more frequently encountered issues
What you bring to Uplight:
- BS in engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience writing code for product development and testing or systems integration or professional services
- Solid understanding of data structures, coding standards, best practices, and software design
- Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
- Proficient with at least one of the following: Python, Ruby, Angular.js
- Familiarity with scripting in a Linux environment
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and analytic capabilities
Bonus points:
- Experience with SaaS software and Amazon EKS
- Familiarity with big data frameworks, Hadoop/MapReduce, HDFS, HBase or others
- Working experience in messaging frameworks and event driven systems
- Experience with electric utility enterprise IT systems
- Understanding of the mechanics and economics of demand response and demand-side management
- Proven experience working in a dynamic startup environment

Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
