We are looking for a Manager, Quality Engineering to drive our company forward, and help us lead the clean energy revolution!
How you will make an impact:   
The Manager of Quality Engineering at Uplight will lead the QA efforts across multiple software product offerings and engineering teams and report to a Director of Engineering. This role demands a people manager with a deep understanding of QA methodologies and practices, leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be adept at working across multiple products, implementing QE strategy in collaboration with Quality Engineers, Product and Engineering leadership to deliver highest standards of quality for Uplight’s customers. Driving test automation and leveraging tools for driving efficiencies will be a key expectation. 
What you will contribute:
  • Implement QE strategy tailored to needs across different products and offerings that align with the company's goals and objectives on Quality in line with the overall Quality Engineering organization.
  • Lead and mentor a team of QE professionals (SDETs and QA Engineers) , fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and operations to ensure cohesive and efficient QE processes.
  • Oversee the QE practice and activities across multiple product offerings, ensuring thorough testing and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain Quality metrics, analyzing data to drive improvement in product quality in conjunction with engineering teams.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QE processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and scalability.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in QE methodologies, tools and frameworks.
  • Lead initiatives for root cause analysis and corrective as well as preventive actions for defects and issues.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks related to software quality and delivery.
What you bring to Uplight:           
  • The ideal candidate should have overall 3-7 years of strong experience in software quality assurance with 0-3 years of experience in a leadership position in a Software Product engineering company. 
  • ​​Industry knowledge in the field of Energy and Cleantech will be an advantage.
  • Strong people management, mentoring and coaching skills. Hiring, mentoring and motivating highly skilled Quality Engineers.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate individuals and teams, drive accountability, and foster collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary Range: $123,000 to $152,000 + Bonus

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
