The A Side: A Day in The Life

The role will lead the commercial planning activities to support the CFO with ongoing business planning, deal sign off/ greenlight process, sales and pricing guardrail strategy. The role will also partner with the sales team to oversee customer reporting and deal management. With one direct report the successful candidate will develop the finance analyst to oversee production finance, content amortisation and the valuation of intangible assets. The successful applicant must be a fully qualified accountant with strong interpersonal and business partnering skills.

 

The B Side: Skills & Experience

Be Collaborative

  • To support the CFO with all aspects of financial and commercial planning
  • Partner with the Sales team and Finance Operations to deliver customer revenue and profitability reporting
  • Coach and motivate to drive high performance across the finance team and fully embed a finance business partnering model
  • Work closely and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand and manage each project’s impact on the business plan and finance processes

 

Be Administrative

 

  • Provide financial appraisal of production projects and third party acquisitions/ distribution deals at greenlight meetings
  • Lead the preparing and presentation of the monthly management reports, providing insights of opportunities and risks against the business plan
  • Develop monthly rolling forecasts and updates of the company's long-range plan
  • Assist with setting and tracking of sales targets to maximise on all potential and turnover for the studio
  • Drive continuous process improvements to promote best in class reporting, meaningful analysis and actionable business insights

 

 

Person Specification

Necessary

  • A passion for music and filmed entertainment
  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of deal processes
  • Excellent financial modelling skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Team leadership skills as well as team player, good at building professional relationships and adapting a personal approach to deal with different personalities and varying levels of knowledge and skills across the organisation
  • Strong organisational skills with proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft office) and ability to learn new packages quickly
  • Experience using BPC, Essbase or similar financial planning and reporting software
  • Driven and results orientated
