The A Side: A Day in The Life

 

Universal Music Group is looking for a social media specialist to join their social media department, Rebel Labs to lead their Snapchat Discover programming team and manage our portfolio of successful Snapchat shows. 

You’ll be obsessed music and have your finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest relatable internet youth culture, the biggest global trends and viral videos across Snapchat, TikTok and Reels.

 

The B Side: Skills & Experience

 

  • Plan and implement Rebel Labs Snapchat programming strategy, optimising for audience growth, revenue, video views and music discovery
  • Oversee production workflow and delivery of all Snapchat Shows, coordinating music, video content, and editing resources to ensure episodes are delivered on time
  • Review label music priorities and identify suitable placements within our programming, matching each track to the best suited video content
  • Manage a team of editors, researchers and content creators.
  • Work with Rebel Labs’ Data Analyst to review Snapchat performance analytics to optimise programming & provide constant feedback to the team to improve content and publishing (e.g titles, thumbnails, metadata)
  • Assist the Originals teams in optimising their original content for Snapchat and developing new formats that are suitable for the platform
  • Collaborate with the Short-form/TikTok and Originals team to create 360 campaigns to promote our artists
  • Send programming updates to Universal Music Group labels throughout the month. Create case studies and reports that highlight successful artist campaigns
  • Coordinate with UMG’s in-house media buying team to highlight opportunities to retarget the audiences of our shows or serve ads against our show inventory
  • Identify opportunities to exploit our Snapchat programming library on other platforms

 

Person Specification


  • Track record of developing and launching new show Snapchat Discover formats
  • Success in growing audiences on Snapchat Discover
  • Experience working at a video publisher producing content for major social platforms, with particular attention to Snapchat Discover, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube
  • A passion for music, youth culture and social media is essential
  • An enthusiastic and personable team player, highly self-motivated, problem solver and willing to go the extra mile
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and are able to communicate effectively with team members, managers and UMG talent
  • Creative thinker, not afraid to try new ideas to enhance formats and style within our brands
  • Must be accustomed to working to tight deadlines and be extremely well organised with excellent attention to detail
