The A Side: A Day in The Life


UMPG Global Technology is seeking a dynamic, confident and collaborative individual to join the team of Infrastructure and Developers Operation.  The individual will work closely with technical leads and developers by providing technical Infrastructure guidance and managing operations responsibilities along with implementing and automating cloud based solutions.

  

The B Side: Skills & Experience

 

Be Creative 

 

  • Use DevOps methodology and toolsets to implement and support solutions in AWS
  • Utilize technical skills and tools to coordinate, maintain, enhance, and deploy cloud-based solutions while following standards and best practices
  • Oversee day to day operations tasks and implement proposed project solutions
  • Ensure cloud resources meet operational requirements and follow infrastructure and security standards and best practices
  • Provide documentation and communicate to peers and other IT Teams
  • Remediate vulnerabilities identified by the security team
  • Present creative solutions to challenging problems
  • Create and implement Infrastructure and operations standards and ensure cross-team coordination
  • Troubleshoots, supports, and resolves incidents and problems. Liaise with vendors and other IT teams.
  • Troubleshoots and manages the resolution of issues related to operations and infrastructure.
  • Work outside of standard business hours will occasionally be required

 

Person Specification

 

Necessary

 

  • Proven experience working with Amazon AWS in an enterprise environment
  • Build and support solutions using both serverless and server based infrastructure
  • In depth knowledge and demonstrated experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, ElasticSearch, ElastiCache, Load Balancers, CloudWatch, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, VPC and Lambda or equivalent
  • Have solid experience with Linux and Windows management including deployment and patch management or equivalent
  • Demonstrate deployment practices using CI/CD process and technologies (Jenkins, CodeDeploy, CodePipieline, Cloudformation or equivalent)
  • Strong experience with build and configuration management tools particularly Chef and AWS Systems Manager or equivalent
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash scripting & AWS CLI or equivalent
  • Experience with AWS KMS and encryption or equivalent
  • Strong grasp of DHCP, TCP/IP, WINS, Windows AD Domain, Work Groups, IIS, Apache and Tomcat or equivalent
  • Experience with managing DNS and Web Application Firewalls (WAF) or equivalent
  • Good understanding and usage of version control and release management tools especially Git or equivalent
  • Have solid understanding of cloud design concepts particularly Amazon AWS or equivalent
  • Experience with APM, Monitoring and backup tools or equivalent
  • Experience with AWS Kubernetes and proficient with AWS serverless services or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Change Management and CMDB or equivalent
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Jira (or equivalent) experience
  • A team player but equally able to work independently and a fast learner
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills

 

Desirable

 

  • Knowledge or Azure and GCP or equivalent
  • Worked in Web/Internet, Intranet and/or Extranet development teams or equivalent
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Dynatrace or equivalent
  • Understanding of software development
