How we LEAD: 

Reporting to the VP of eCommerce, the Director of UX/UI Design is a newly created position within eCommerce. The position will be responsible for advancing UX disciplines for the development & implementation of features across UMG storefronts. It will be an opportunity to significantly influence product development and strategy at a critical time, as UMG looks to upgrade and unify its eCommerce efforts globally. This role will deliver consistent and high-quality user experiences and interactions for our customers across the platform for all eCommerce activities at UMG. How you’ll CREATE:  

  • Partner with our Product, Creative, Merchandising, and Engineering teams to provide a consistent and high-quality user experience for our customers across the platform
  • Help evolve UX process and standards to support frontend optimization and new feature development to power our portfolio of US-based artist US store
  • Oversee a team of UX designers & information architects to drive improvements across UMG’s ecommerce business
  • Collaborate in product innovation & ideation sessions, rapidly designing and evolving ideas with eCommerce teams
  • Design assets from initial concept (user flows & wireframes) and contribute to final implementation (web-optimized assets)
  • Grow user testing and A/B testing disciplines to drive UX and product decisions
  • Coordinate the build and use of a design system to drive best practices

Bring your VIBE:

  • Deep understanding of UX & UI in an eCommerce environment
    • 5+ years of experience working with UX/UI designs in an eCommerce environment
  • Experience as a design leader within a fast-paced and collaborative software environment
  • Experience collaborating with Designers, Product Managers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists and Business Stakeholders throughout the design process
  • Outstanding conceptual and interaction design skills with a track record of designing and shipping successful platform experiences
  • A portfolio highlighting projects that demonstrate experiences contributing to digital interfaces using best practices
  • Experience defining overall UX for technical experiences, components library, and systems for reuse across multiple products
  • Ability to communicate concepts across different audiences and varying levels of the organization to influence product design strategy
  • Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Shopify a plus
