Do you love animals, diagnostics, and the idea of a workplace that feels more like a team than a treadmill? At Sagamore Animal Hospital, we’re seeking a dedicated Associate Veterinarian to join our growing practice — full-time or part-time. Yes, flexibility is part of the package.
About Us
Sagamore Animal Hospital has been a trusted name on the Seacoast since 1985. In 1989 Dr. Michael Schäfer acquired and renamed it, and in 2004 built our current facility just down the road to better serve our clients & patients.
We pride ourselves on compassionate, high-quality care. We offer same-day appointments, a broad suite of services (wellness, diagnostics, surgery, imaging), and we treat each pet like they’re one of the family.
Plus — Rye, NH is a gem. Think coastal breezes, New England charm, and easy access to beaches, hiking, and quaint towns. If your ideal off-hours involves fresh air and good views, you’ll fit right in here.
What You’ll Do
You’ll lean into the art and science of veterinary medicine:
- Provide high-level patient care using modern diagnostics
- Cultivate client relationships, educate on preventive care (vaccines, heartworm, flea/tick)
- Prioritize urgent/trauma cases as needed
- Manage caseload efficiently, with accurate record-keeping (we use SOAP templates)
- Be a practice champion — help shape culture, mentor staff, and contribute to growth
- Collaborate with a friendly, skilled team
We expect you to bring your enthusiasm, your strong medical judgment, and your desire to step in wherever needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD)
- Valid veterinary license in NH (or ability to obtain)
- A commitment to compassionate care, strong communication, and teamwork
Bonus points (but not dealbreakers):
