Job Title: Payroll & HRIS Manager
Location: Toronto, ON

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verification and reconciliation of each payroll cycle and resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Ensure all payroll and benefits processes comply with federal, provincial, and local legislation.
  • Serves as back-up to prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for local employee and monthly payroll for EXPAT as needed
  • Managing employee benefit for both local and expat including to lead the mobility for international assignee.
  • Develops and formulates method of approach to correct escalated employee pay issues ensuring high levels of customer service; communicates with management and employees about pay errors and corrections
  • Compiles and analyzes data; creates, develops, prepares, and reviews payroll-related reports
  • Initiates, coordinates, and reviews changes and/or updates to the payroll/HRIS system; leads staff in testing all system-related changes
  • Oversees the preparation and submittal of quarterly and annual tax reports including T4, and assists with other HR-related reports required by Management or Global Compensation/HRIS team; ensures accuracy of all reporting
  • Work closely with Global HRIS team to escalate the global HRIS project or other countries’ best practice to launch within UNIQLO Canada, and regular participate in weekly, monthly meeting with Global HRIS team
  • Recommends process improvements and innovative solutions.  Amend, maintain, develop policies and procedures for payroll/HRIS operations based on best practices and legal compliance
  • Work with global compensation to conduct the annual salary review and participate in global salary & employee benefits survey, analyze and consider the best proposal to Management to maintain the competitiveness of the Company’s compensation & benefits in Canada labor market
  • Lead and supervise team to correspondence to internal and external audit team in timely manner such as revenue department, audit firm, tax agency
  • Lead team and monitor the information security management in aspect of employee personal information and align with internal and external legal legislation requirement
  • Assist SSC HRBP Manager and Human Resources Director to prepare the budget of labor cost and headcount including to review monthly, quarterly, half-year budget and annual budget setting.
  • Other related duties and projects to be assigned by SSC HRBP Manager and/or Director of Human Resources
Desired Skills and Experiences:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 10+ years' working experience and 3+years’ manager role
  • Working knowledge of ADP and other payroll solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Workday system and other HRIS platform.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, internal controls, and management.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software and payroll programs and applications.
  • Knowledge of audits, income tax forms, etc.
  • Ability to prepare ad-hoc reports for management
  • A flexible team player with a proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of change management, an asset.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel (formula & pivot table), PowerPoint and e-mail required.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Employer

Annual Salary: $98,400 - $112,000 CAD. 
 
The salary range is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and location of the position.
