Overall Position Overview
The Assistant Area Visual Manager will oversee and lead the visual merchandising strategy, with a focus of new store openings and store operations. They will drive creativity and innovation through the delivery of UNIQLO’s in store visual merchandising. They will support with executing Visual Presentations within the store; including but not limited to, Styling, Props, and Displays. These actions are expected to be engaging, generate excitement, inspire, and attract customers, increase Sales while simultaneously communicating UNIQLO LIFEWEAR.
Solid understanding of UNIQLO, manages all basic operations and stores visuals in accordance with UNIQLO Rules, Policies, and Code of Conduct.
Job Description
- Provide regular, ongoing visual merchandising direction for all UNIQLO retail spaces in alignment with our corporate brand image
- Set visual merchandising strategy to achieve corporate objectives
- Establish best practices related to assortment display and placement, provide ongoing direction related to implementation of merchandise
- Actively solicit feedback from Store Management and Store Operations teams providing direction to foster continuous improvement
- Take part in planning of country wide window/in-store calendar based on company strategy
- Conduct daily walk-through and provide creative inputs as it pertains to floor presentation, window display and product styling
- Partner with and effectively influence the visual merchandising teams on seasonal range development based on an optimal store layout across each format
- Create innovative interior product presentation concepts that drive positive KPI growth
- Collaborate with marketing team to define all in-store communication
- Manage headquarter graphic designer’s timelines, directives, production process, outside vendors and aligning all designs based on GHQ
- Manage all weekly, monthly styling working with layout team and utilizing GHQ concepts based on monthly layout
- Manage and create concepts for all window styling based on GHQ direction
- Control department budgetary expenses
- Train and develop team members
- Additional duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experiences
- Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience in visual merchandising with fashion forward apparel retailer
- Exceptional leadership ability with keen eye for design and styling and demonstrated success in visual merchandising, innovation and implementation
- Strong ability to communicate ideas and lead teams from conception to implementation
- Ability to travel to various UNIQLO locations within Canada
- Strong ability to influence, inspire and motivate teams
- Innate talent for identifying and understanding current fashion/retail trends
- Ability to think creatively and to understand scale and compositions in visual techniques
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally to achieve brand visions in stores
- Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute ideas
- Ability to adapt to a challenging and fast paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
