About the Role:
The Associate Engagement Project Specialist leads initiatives that help create a positive and engaging internal culture. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of associate engagement activities including planning and executing internal events, and communications that enhance the associate experience, increase engagement, and keep associates informed and connected. This position focuses on creating a workplace where people feel valued.
- Plan, implement, and promote employee initiatives including events, campaigns or other activities that help drive engagement.
- Lead associate engagement efforts.
- Write timely, accurate, and engaging articles to highlight or promote employee engagement activities and events.
- Plan and execute regular employee events and gatherings that are diverse, inclusive and meaningful.
- Provide logistical panning and project management for strategic meetings and events.
- Manage virtual meetings and events.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Manage accurate annual calendar, records, and budget of events and managed programs evaluate success and prepare annual event and program summary.
- Develop and propose new event ideas that align with our organizational goals and enhance employee engagement.
- Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
- Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
- May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
- Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, communications or other applicable field. Preferred.
- 3-5 years communications, event planning or project management. Required
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong public speaking skills and able to speak comfortability in large crowds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills; and able occasionally speak in front of groups.
- Ability to take initiative and creatively execute on deliverables.
- Able to work extended (flexible) hours for events and activities as needed.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment using sound judgement with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom, WebEx, etc.).
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.

Our Benefits:
We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $62,000.00 - $90,000.00 and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
