About the Role:

 

Reporting to the Chief Audit Executive and the applicable Board committee, the Credit Review Director oversees the Bank's independent loan review activities; provides the Board and Executive/Senior Management with relevant information and candid, fact-based feedback on loan portfolio quality, potential loan problems, and material loss exposure; and reports exceptions when lending practices do not conform with established policy, guideline or prudent practice.

 

  • Develops and implements strategy for positioning Credit Review to effectively and efficiently meet its responsibilities to the Bank and expectations of the Bank’s regulators.
  • Develops annual operating and staffing plan for the department; assesses plan status on a regular/periodic basis; requests approval for material plan changes from Chief Audit Executive and Board committee.
  • Analyzes and recommends the department expense budget; responsible for monitoring performance to budget and communicating status to Chief Audit Executive.
  • Directs regular review activities; coordinates the department’s workflow and staffing assignments.
  • Establishes/approves department policies and procedures; reviews/approves monthly limited scope review samples; reviews/approves full scope portfolio review samples, project plans, results, and draft reports.
  • Reviews risk rating actions in the problem loan categories; reviews credit actions involving loans assigned to the Special Assets Department.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, economics or related field required
  • More than 10 years experience in banking, commercial credit, and business financial analysis, with department oversight/management and personnel management required; prior commercial loan review experience preferred.
  • Extensive and varied experience in commercial and consumer credit products, and advanced skills in financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and accounting rules; regulatory guidance specific to the internal loan review function.
  • Strategic thinker and planner.
  • Ability to interact, collaborate, and clearly communicate both orally and in written form with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven skills at developing strong relationships with subordinates, peers, and executive-level stakeholders.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $175,000 - $250,000, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
