About the Role:
The HR Leave of Absence Administrator oversees the bank's leave of absence program and associated benefits. This individual contributor role acts as the technical expert for the bank's leave programs, supporting their day-to-day operations. The administrator frequently collaborates with the bank's employee leave vendors, serving as the primary contact and resource for connecting the bank and its associates with leave-related matters. Additionally, they work with internal teams on various full-cycle leave programs. As the subject matter expert, the administrator ensures program compliance and provides expertise on specific leave programs.
- The HR Leave of Absence Administrator plays a critical and multifaceted role in ensuring the effective administration, communication, compliance, and support of associate leave of absence programs within the bank.
- Oversee all aspects of the leave of absence process and requests. Reviewing leave requests and supporting documentation, sending required notifications, forms, and letters, and determining leave eligibility.
- Manage and coordinate all leave programs such as FMLA, personal leave, military leave, jury duty, bereavement leave, and disability leaves. Oversee and provide support for workers compensation plans and/or claims.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for leave requests, advising employees and managers on appropriate leave processes and policies.
- Resolve leaves related issues working with employees to resolve issues related to their leave of absence, including answering questions, investigating concerns, and escalating issues as required.
- Stay up to date with regulations and laws related to employee leave of absence, in order to accurately assist employees with their questions and/or concerns. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
- Maintain accurate records: including employee records, benefit coverage, leave of absence and other relevant information. Maintaining databases to track leave requests and statuses, including continuous, intermittent, paid, and unpaid leave time.
- Work with vendors, insurers, and other service providers to assist employees with questions and/or concerns.
- Work with various insurance providers and other service providers to ensure the efficient and accurate handing of claims.
- Provide reporting and analytics related to employee leave of absence, including cost analysis, usage trends, and other relevant data.
- Conduct audits of leave of absence programs, ensuring accuracy of enrollments, process and/or issues.
- Assist in developing leave of absence policies related to employee leaves, ensuring that an organization's leave of absence programs is consistent with its overall goals and values.
- Collaborate with other HR members to ensure that employee leave of absence programs align with the organization's overall human resources strategy.
- Support other HR functions as needed, including benefits, retirement, compensation, payroll, and employee relations.
- Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
- Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
- May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:
- Associate's degree in business, human resources or a related field extensive, required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, human resources or a related field extensive, preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience with breadth and depth of knowledge in absence management and providing assistance with needs for leaves, accommodations, and/or modified work schedules, required.
- Current/former companies had 2,000-5,000+ employees, required.
- Strong breadth and depth of knowledge in all leaves of absence types, including federal, state, and local regulations specific to leaves of absence, required.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Workday) and leave management systems, required.
- Proven experience managing leaves of absence across multiple states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, required.
- Reside within the company’s’ footprint (AZ, CA, CO, ID, NV, OR, UT, WA) and have experience with multistate plans and programs, required.
- Effective communication skills that give clear and effective communication with employees, managers, and external parties.
- Analytical skills: analyze data related to employee leave of absence programs, including costs, use, and employee feedback. Ability to analyze leave data and trends to make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational skills: highly organized to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Advanced problem-solving skills: can identify and resolve issues related to employee leave of absence programs. Address and resolve issues related to leave requests and policies.
- Superior customer service skills: provide excellent customer service to employees and respond to their needs in a timely and professional manner.

- Technical skills: have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of employee leave of absence programs.

- Technology skills: proficient in relevant software and technology used in the administration of employee leave of absence programs.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing and resolving issues related to leave requests and policies.
- Empathy: Providing support and understanding to employees during their leave periods.
- Knowledge of Leave Laws: Understanding of federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.
- Professional certification(s) CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP, preferred.

Our Benefits:
We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $78,000 - $90,000, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
