About the Role:

Directs the operations of the Department to ensure achievement of short and long-term goals and objectives and sales and profit objectives are met. Manages, develops and implements aggressive commercial lending business development programs and strategies to grow the assigned market area. 

  • Leads the commercial sales process for assigned Commercial Banking Center including selling and business development activities and direct contact with business referral sources and clients.
  • Coordinates with marketing resources, treasury management services and other product/service providers within the company.
  • Develops and implements cross-selling strategies with an established store network.
  • Identifies, hires, manages performance, motivates and retains top talent.
  • Promotes and maintains efficient operations processes designed to achieve the highest levels of customer service quality.
  • Manages and maintains credit quality standards. Grants credit within approved guidelines.
  • Creates, manages, and maintains controls to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained in regard to account management (past due loans) and timely follow-up.
  • Achieves outstanding credit exams.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent experience (Required)
  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Master’s Degree or equivalent, and proven track record in developing business in the commercial industry. (Preferred)
  • 2-4 years Previous management or commercial banking management experience or equivalent (Required)
  • More than 10 years of relevant commercial lending experience. (Required)
  • Experience directing and controlling the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company having overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing, and maintaining costs, methods, and associates.
  • Experience developing, modifying, and executing company policies that affect immediate operation(s) and company-wide affect.
  • Experience interacting with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers.  Interactions normally involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior-level managers.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.
  • Excellent relationship management and business development abilities, analytical and problem solving skills, sales skills, and credit and credit quality skills with prior lending authority experience.
  • Proven track record of success in developing new clients and business, including prospecting, sourcing and networking.
  • Expert knowledge of commercial C&I bank products and services that result in successfully capitalizing on all opportunities to cross-sell the bank’s products.
  • Experience managing and developing others and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to change course (adaptable) at a moment’s notice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.

Our Benefits:

 We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $159,000.00 - $280,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
