About the Role: 
The Database Administrator assists in the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance, management and security of databases while ensuring high levels of data availability for enterprise solutions. Responsible for implementing and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.  The Database Administrator should have knowledge of programming or scripting to support on-going automation and ETL efforts. Develops tactical plans to implement projects.
  • Understand, follow, and suggest changes to standard procedures related to the deployment, maintenance, security, compliance, and support of the database server version and specific needs of a given application
  • Collaborate with application support teams for ongoing support and planning
  • Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues. Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving using established patterns to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets. Monitor database server resource usage to ensure appropriate database and database server operation
  • Plan and assist in database migrations as needed to support upgrades
  • Implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
  • Create or support queries, reports, or other database processes in response to business needs
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1 year experience supporting enterprise class database solutions
  • 4-7 years experience supporting all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server and host OS (security, HA, DR, SSIS, SSRS)
  • 7-10 years IT operational experience supporting critical business systems in a 7x24 production environment.
  • 2-4 years experience supporting other enterprise DBMS or cloud hosted data solution
  • Experience in designing, implementing and deploying highly available mission critical database solutions, in OLTP and high transaction environments.
  • Experience in enterprise database management principals including design, configuration, implementation, data modeling, maintenance, redundancy/high availability, security, troubleshooting/performance tuning, upgrades, migrations, database programming.
  • Experience configuring, implementing and supporting high availability and redundancy strategies on systems including clustering, log shipping, mirroring, and data replication processes.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
  • Experience with systems integration to effectively incorporate new business capability into the existing technical infrastructure.
  • Experience with system management, diagnostic and development tools.
  •  Excellent knowledge of database resource management (best practices design and troubleshooting of cpu, memory, and storage subsystems)
  • Advanced knowledge of scripting or programming languages required.
  • Must have strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills and understand system development methodologies.
  • High level knowledge of scalable enterprise architectures, industry standards and emerging database technologies.
  • Strong presentation, organization and writing skills required.
  • Excellent systems documentation and technical diagramming skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting critical systems issues and performing root-cause analysis for resolving problems that may have multiple system dependencies.
  • Solid understanding of SQL queries, stored procedures , database optimization and transactions in order to recommend strategies to optimally manage database resources and improve performance.
  • Experience with Change management processes.
  • Preferred Certifications: Azure Administration or related, Azure Data Analyst\Engineer or related, MS SQL Server,

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $69,991 - $129,982 and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
