About the Role:

 

Review, analyze, underwrite, and present with appropriate recommendations for applications on multifamily or other commercial real estate (CRE) loans secured by first mortgages on investor owned (non-owner occupied) properties.  Perform necessary property and borrower due diligence to ensure analysis of projects and proposed loans are consistent with underwriting guidelines established by Bank.  Typical loan size ranges from $10MM and can go up to $75MM. 

 

  • Prepare credit requests for submission to credit administration, making appropriate recommendations.
  • Review and analyze various third-party documents and reports, including property financial statements, rent rolls, appraisals, environmental and engineering data, personal credit, title, escrow, and borrowing entity structures.
  • Analyze borrower financial statements and tax returns with emphasis on the cash flow of underlying investment real estate.
  • Determine physical and market condition of multifamily and commercial real estate properties with respect to third party reports, inspections, and through correspondence with CRE Field Underwriters and appraisal review department.
  • Responsible for the initial risk grading of credits for approval and funding.
  • Identify strengths and risks of loan requests, including recommendations for mitigating risks consistent with the bank's guidelines, and express reasons for support of the extension of credit.
  • Identify exceptions to policy, guidelines, and pricing in the Credit Request presentation.
  • Partner with loan processors to identify title, insurance, zoning, entity, or other issues that require analysis and resolution by the bank prior to approval, documentation, and funding of loans.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree: In finance, accounting, or other related field.
  • 4-7 years of multifamily and commercial real estate experience.  May be a combination of processing, underwriting, originating, or brokering sales of loans for commercial real estate. (Required)
  • Intermediate knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the multifamily and commercial real estate (investor owned income property) lending field.
  • Display superior analytical abilities, supported by solid credit, lending and transaction knowledge.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial conditions, financial statements, and tax returns. Experience with complex loan structures a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of financial policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate good organizational and time management skills.  Ability to take initiative with minimal direction, to work on multiple transactions simultaneously, and to meet deadlines.
  • Possess strong analytical, negotiation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and work well in a team environment.
  • Superior skills in database, spreadsheets.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $85,543.00 - $158,864.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
