This is an excellent career opportunity for a strategic digital marketing professional to join a high-performing, committed team of experts advancing the work of the largest healthcare system in Central and Western Massachusetts, UMass Memorial Health Care (UMMHC). The system includes UMass Memorial Medical Center, HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital, and Marlborough Hospital, UMass Memorial Medical Group, and Community Healthlink, the region’s largest behavioral health agency, and home health and hospice.

Position Summary:

Reporting to UMMHC’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications as a contributing member of the marketing and communications leadership team, the Director of Digital Services develops and directs the organization’s digital marketing and communications strategic plan. Specific responsibilities include developing digital marketing policies, analyzing data, determining best practices for optimizing performance of current digital tools, and researching/evaluating and implementing best-practice digital channels and opportunities. The selected candidate will manage the digital services staff, UMMHC websites, and serve as digital subject matter expert for patient-facing tools, marketing campaigns, reputation management tools, and internal communications tools (the Hub); and assure appropriate integration with other system-wide digital assets, including social medial properties as well as those of contract partners such as Epic and Healthgrades.


Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in related discipline; 7+ years’ progressive experience and record of accomplishment in digital marketing including website management, marketing automation, and expertise in online marketing, advertising, and engagement tools including current trends and best practices. The selected candidate will be an effective communicator and strategic problem-solver, influencer, and relationship manager with a results orientation and confidence as a trusted advisor. Familiarity with healthcare environments preferred.
