Position at UMass Memorial Medical Group Physicians

The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center and the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA, has an opening for a full-time or part-time academic- Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Pediatrician.  The Division currently includes two child psychologists, nursing including a nurse practitioner, a social worker, and two DBP and/or NDD physicians.   Members of the division are active in teaching, clinical evaluations and follow-up of children of all ages, with strong programs in early childhood, Autism, NICU follow-up clinic, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and have close ties with Early Intervention and school programs in the area, and with community and state-based advocacy organizations.  The division is involved in clinical research projects, is part of the LEND program at the UMass Medical School/Shriver Center, and is very active with the MA Act Early State Team that is part of the CDC Act Early Campaign. Members of the division collaborate with Genetics (Down Syndrome clinic), Child Neurology, NICU and NICU follow up programs, and Child Psychiatry and Nutrition (Growth and Nutrition clinic). 

 

Opportunities exist to develop and continue new clinical models, research projects, collaborations and teaching initiatives.  Besides clinical care, other responsibilities include teaching medical students, pediatric residents and other post-graduate students and trainees, and the initiation/continuation of clinical research projects.  The Department of Pediatrics offers a growing, vibrant, collegial academic community with excellent potential for professional development. 

 

            Candidates should be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible and fellowship trained in Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities have strengths in clinical care and teaching, and an interest in collaborative research.  The Medical Center is located 40 miles west of Boston, with easy access to all that the New England region has to offer.   Salary is competitive and the benefits package is generous.
