Academic Critical Care Anesthesiologist

Worcester, MA

 

The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center, the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA, is seeking a BE/BC fellowship trained Critical Care Anesthesiologist with experience in cardiac surgical critical care. 

  

UMass Memorial Medical Center is a 779-bed tertiary care facility and a Level 1 Trauma Center for adults and Children, covering over one million lives. The range of surgical cases includes cardiac and vascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, pediatric, orthopedic, surgical oncology, laparoscopic, liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, and major trauma. Across the Healthcare System our Anesthesia Team is providing care to over 38,000 patients annually.

 

Members of our ICU team provide the full spectrum of surgical critical care in three ICUs across two campuses, in addition to participation in our extensive telemedicine network (eICU). The eICU is linking all critical care beds from 7 Medical and Surgical ICUs across the Medical Center, in addition to several community hospital beds, to a control center staffed 24/7 by an Intensivist lead critical care team.  We have a closed ICU model governed by a Critical Care Operations Committee and enjoy top rankings by the VISICU eICU Quality Consortium on a yearly basis for significantly reducing patient mortality and improving outcomes.

Eligible candidates should have a broad range of clinical experiences including cardiac surgical critical care, additional fellowship training in cardiac anesthesiology is desirable but not mandatory.
