Title: Associate General Counsel, Business Corporate

Position Summary:

Focus of matters includes non-profit corporate law, real estate, routine and extraordinary business transactions, tax-exempt bond financing and commercial financing, IS contracting, governance and risk management.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides legal support for organization’s business relationships with third parties, including contracts, real estate leasing and conveyancing, acquisitions, proposals, new ventures and dispositions.  Works with business team to structure legally compliant arrangements; and negotiate, draft and review agreements. 
  • Advises senior management, and Board(s) of Trustees on governance matters.
Position Qualifications:


  1. Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school as well as admission to the Massachusetts state bar or eligibility for admission within one (1) year.


  1. A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience.
  2. Significant experience in corporate law including transactional, corporate, financing, real estate and governance work.
  3. Knowledge of federal and state health care regulations, including Fraud & Abuse, Stark, HIPAA and state licensure.


  1. Prior in house experience.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
